San Carlos Reservation, ca. 1890.

Photographs by "Mr. Jones" [p. 23], an amateur photographer in government service. The album belonged to an unidentified Euro-American woman [p. 15], probably a teacher at the boarding school. Most scenes were made on the San Carlos Apache Reservation. Portraits of Apache, Euro-Americans, and other Native Americans (possibly Sioux). Panoramic views of the community show the agency office, boarding school, Rupkey's store, the jail, and private homes. Many scenes show wickiups and camps. Landscapes show the San Carlos River and surrounding valley; a few with track, bridges, and equipment of the G.V.G. & Railway. Captions mention the names Frank Tuttle, Clarence Duncan, Captain Kelly, Dr. Boyd, Rabinowitz, the Pritchards, Justin Shedee and "Alice." The album was made by the Badger Album Co., 1913.
